Jane has over 30 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse fields. She has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Jane started her career working in detoxification and inpatient substance abuse treatment and then worked in an emergency services/suicide prevention unit for many years. She has been an outpatient psychotherapist for the past ten years and has always maintained a private practice in addition to her other roles. She uses cognitive behavioral and supportive problem-solving approaches. She also uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process trauma and other difficult issues. Jane has a deep interest in helping others find their best selves and her approach tends to be client-centered. She truly appreciates getting to know her clients and drawing upon their strengths. She also considers it a privilege to work in this field.
