Kristine Buelow, MSW, LCSW

Kristine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been in the mental health field for over 20 years. She believes that everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and resilience. Life’s challenges can be overwhelming, but seeking support is a powerful step toward meaningful change. Therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process—one that fosters self-awareness, practical solutions, and lasting transformation in a safe, nonjudgmental space.

Her clinical focus is on helping clients cultivate balance in their relationships, careers, and self-care, with a particular commitment to supporting women navigating attachment and life transitions. Using evidence-based approaches, including ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, Kristine tailors her treatment plans with compassion and effectiveness to help clients heal and thrive.

As a social worker, Kristine emphasizes strengths rather than struggles, empowering clients to build on their resilience and abilities. Over the past twenty years, she has had the opportunity to work with organizations such as the Chicago Department on Aging and various private mental health practices in the Illinois suburbs, supporting children, teens, seniors, and families. Kristine is thrilled to be back in Madison, where she earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin.

Clients describe Kristine as warm, approachable, and deeply committed - qualities she brings to every session.
